I Run2Revive for my mum
On September 28th I will be running, along with my wife Kelly, the Grand Canyon Rim2Rim with the organization Run2Revive, which raises vital funds to research cures for ALS and Alzheimers. This has been a big goal of ours and when we found this group it was a perfect opportunity to challenge ourselves and raise money for a cause that has impacted our lives. Kelly lost her step brother to ALS and, while my mum has not been diagnosed with Alzheimers she is having memory related issues impacting her quality of life, which hasn't been fully diagnosed.
I grew up playing rugby and then ventured into boxing before getting hooked on alpine climbing & hiking. I didn't start participating in long distance events until 2009. I have participated in several marathons, fun runs and individual distance triathlons, including a couple of half and one full Ironman, but this will still be a great physical challenge testing my endurance and mental strength. We hope by participating in events like this it will bring more awareness and increase funds for the necessary research. 100% of the donations goes to research.
